Rare and beautiful verge pocket watch with enamel decoration.
Diameter is 51mm, weight is 73 grams.
The watch is beautifully decorated.
The back cover features delicate enamel miniature of Shepherd and Shepherdess, in genre of romanticism.
Below there is "Gage d'Amitie" (Token of Friendship) inscription encrusted with diamonds.
The rim is decorated with the "paillons" - tiny golden foil under transparent enamel.
The front bezel is equally decorated with multicolored enamel.
Nice gift of friendship with a hint to something bigger..
The extra-thin movement with verge escapement with unusual layout is quite remarkable.
The verge of the watch is very small, the chain of fusee is very thin - such movements are rare and hard to make because of requirements to fineness of the details.
Swiss or French work of very early XIX century.
The watch appears to be in good condition.
The enamel has minor reparations on the very sides, the main medallion is intact.
Dial seems to be flawless.
Ultra-flat movement with verge escapement is in running condition, hovewer time keeping isn't guaranteed and I recommend cleaning as usual.
