Beautiful pocket quarter repeating verge watch in 18k gold case.
The watch features Jaquemarts automatons.
Diameter is 53mm, weight is 113 grams.
Swiss production, about 1810s.
The overall scenery is allegory of love - with two Cupids are striking to the bells and a dog as symbol of faithfulness below.
Dust cover is signed by Bertoud a Paris, but it should be a kind of prestigious signature. Back cover bears hallmark of DC Fs, which probably stands for Duchène & Comp Frères - well known watchmakers and retailers from Geneva.
Back cover also bears 18k stamp for 18k gold case.
Condition
Full plate verge fusee movement is in working condition, though I don't guarantee time keeping.
The repeating and Jaquemarts are working as it should.
The circular enamel dial has repairs - 3,6 and 9 numbers are repaired and repainted.
Case has common period wear.
