Beautiful Breguet watch of Abraham Louis Breguet
period from early 1825.
Diameter is 46mm.
Watch comes with copy of extracts from archives dated by 1972.
According the certificate in French, the watch was sold in September of 1825 for 1600 Francs.
Certificate exactly describes the watch features - serial number, case and dial materials, complications, etc.
The watch has exclusive Breguet features, as:
- Breguet proper ruby cylinder escapement
- parachute antishock and bi-metallic thermal compensation
- case, combining silver and gold (solid gold front, back and dust covers, silver base).
- quarter repeating driven with side push button.
The dial is signed by Breguet.
Dust cover bears signature Breguet Horlger de la Marine Royale and serial number 4393.
Back cover features same serial number and casemaker hallmark LJ with dove, for Louis Joly, case maker for Breguet in 1820-1830s.
Original Breguet box also features same serial number 4393.
You cannot be more sure it's a genuine Breguet production.
The watch appears to be in good condition.
The movement is running as it should, though I don’t guarantee time keeping, cleaning / oiling is recommended.
Repetition works as it should.
Cosmetically it’s very fine.
The silver dial is perfect. The case appears to be in good condition with minor wear
Original blued steel hands. Mineral glass.
