Beautiful and delicate golden snuffbox with concealed musical box.
Dimensions are 84 x 55 x 19 mm, weight is 144 grams.

Nicely shaped and refined item, designed to nicely fit to the pocket.
The sides are engraved in "taille douce" technic.
Snuffbox has two compartments, one of them has concealed music box with two tunes.
Geneve work of early XIX century for French market.

Snuffbox bears "head of cock" French 18k gold hallmarks, used in 1809-1819, and AM hallmark for Alexandre Magnin
Alexandre Magnin, jeweller, born in Geneva in 1786. This mark was first used by him around 1812. When he died in 1830, his business at Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau 45 was carried on by his widow and their elder son Charles who later ended up as the last goldsmith in Geneva specifically to make gold boxes.

Snuffbox appears to be in excellent condition with minor wear.
Musical movement is in functional condition, plays nicely.
