Diameter of outer case is 43mm, inner case is 37mm.
Total weight is 72 grams, outer case weight is 15 grams.
Inner case is 14k gold, outer case is more pure gold, probably 20-22k, you can see the color difference of the cases.
The movement is signed by
Lorenz Reich in Augusta (Augsburg now).
Jürgen Abeler records Lorenz Reich in Augsburg, Master in 1740, died in 1760.
The watch features beautiful cock, decorated with bird and animal figures.
Outer repousse case depicting scene of
meeting of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. It could evoke Solomon’s wisdom, the magnificence of his court, and the arrival of a powerful and rich foreign queen bearing precious gifts. The scene likely carried a prestige meaning: wisdom, royal splendor, exotic wealth, diplomacy, and gift-giving.
The repousse decoration is extremely well preserved, even the facial expressions has been kept. Rare excellent condition.
Watch comes with nice gilt baroque chatelain of 14 cm length.
