Nice musical fob seal.
Switzerland, probably Geneva c. 1810-1820.
Weight is 19 grams, height is 41mm.

This example is a nice piece, with a chased putty figuring and enamelled flowers.

According to the "History of Musical Box" by A. Chapuis, about 1796 Geneve watchmaker Antoine Favre-Salomon (1734 – 1820), invented a new compact musical mechanism, based on drum with pins, which was compact enough to be embedded in pocket watch without adding bulk. It was later recognised as the first "comb" music box.
In 1800s other Geneva watchmakers started to making the watches with music according this principle.
Production of these musical seals are dated to 1810-1820, while manufacturer is unknown, but almost certainly Geneva company.
