Nice onion watch, France, circa 1720.
Diameter is 56 mm, thickness is 33mm.
Watch features beautiful solid silver dial with porcelain cartouches.
The medallion in the centre of the dial is decorated with cupid and baroque fish.
Movement is richly decorated with silver accents, matching dial and case style. It features fancy silver pillars, silver rims around top and bottom plates and other decorative silver elements.
The balance bridge is equally made of silver, decorated with grotesque masks and floral ornament.
Watch is signed by
Cormasson Le Ien (probably Le Jeune) in Paris, most likely Etienne Cormasson, who became Mâitre (Master) in 1722.
Condition
Watch appears to be in nice condition.
Several minutes and hours cartouches are restored, otherwise the dial is in good condition.
Movement is running in every position, though I don't guarantee time keeping.
The silver case is in good condition.
Minute hand is later.
Overall nice condition.
