Good onion pocket watch, France, circa 1710s.
Diameter is 54 mm, thickness is 32mm.

Watch features nice fire gilt dial with porcelain cartouches.
The medallion in the centre of the dial is decorated with bird and floral motif.
Movement features an oversized balance bridge, depicting birds, grotesque masks and floral ornament. It's also decorated with beautiful silver pierced and engraved elements.
The case is richly decorated with arabesques.

Watch is signed by Jean Jacques Varin in Paris.
Jean Jacques Varin (also Warin) is listed as a watchmaker in Paris in 1715, in Rue Pot de Fer-Faubourg Saint-Marcel (1713).

Condition
Watch appears to be in nice condition.
Couple of minute cartouches are repaired, otherwise the dial is in good condition.
Movement is running in every position, though I don't guarantee time keeping.
The brass case is in good condition, with well preserved relief, though closes somewhat tight.
Overall good condition.
