Beautiful Breguet watch sold in 1838.
Diameter is 49mm.
Watch comes with Certificate N 4755 from Breguet house, confirming the watch features and the sale of the watch at 12 April of 1838 to the Mr. Arnauldet, engineering forces battalion chief.
This watch has typical Breguet series III watch design, featuring:
- Breguet ruby cylinder escapement
- parachute anti-shock and bi-metallic thermal compensation
- quarter repeating driven with push button that can be pulled out of the case.
- case combines silver and gold (front, back and dust covers are golden, base is silver).
Dust cover bears signature Breguet and serial number 582.
It's inner side has French gold hallmarks for 18k gold used in 1819-1838.
The silver insert of the back cover is beautifully engraved in Renaissance spirit.
The keyless system of the winding and time setting was added to the movement later, after 1868, outside of Breguet house.
The watch appears to be in good condition.
The movement is running as it should, though I don’t guarantee time keeping, cleaning / oiling is recommended.
