Nice pair cased Geneva verge fusee watch from 1740s.
Outer case diameter is 50mm, height is 55mm, thickness is 29mm.
Watch features elaborated silver repousse outer case, richly ornamented in true Baroque spirit.
The movement is a quality production of 1740s.
It features rather big balance bridge with ruby endstone, big Tompion regulator with cut and pierced surrounding plate, square baluster pillars, barrel with endless screw stopwork.
Quite typical features set for quality Geneva production, oriented to British style in first half of XVIII century..
Movement is signed by Terrot & Thuillier in Geneva.
O. Patrizzi records this tandem as Watch- and Clockmaker masters, 1735-1750.
Watches of great quality in golden cases, decorated with enamels and porcelain.
Movement is running in every position though I don't guarantee time keeping.
Please note, the balance bridge oscillates too fast, and it quite certainly doesn't keep time..
The outer case has some wear.
Dial is in good condition with few minor defects.
