Very nice tiny verge fusee watch in solid 18k gold case.
Diameter is 25mm, tiny movement is only 21mm width.
Weight is about 16 grams.
Case is decorated with varicoloured enamels and half-pearls.
Watch is signed by Louis Duchene & Fils. Louis Duchene et Fils is recorded by O. Patrizzi in "Dictionnaire Des Horlogers Genevois". Geneva based company was active in 1790-1820.
It was producing highly-complicated watches as coach watches with grande sonnerie, minute repeaters, watches with jump hours, fantasy watches and watches with enamel decorations.
Such miniature watches are extremely difficult to produce, it required the best watchmaking skills of epoch to manufacture such a piece.
Rare for this kind of watches, movement functions in any position, though I don't guarantee time keeping and cleaning is recommended.
Dial seems to be in good condition.
As usual, enamels are restored - these watches has been worn as pendants and usually has defects over the enamel.
Overall nice looking watch.
Watch comes with the key - it's important as it's hard to find fitting one.
